Age Calculator
Someone born on June 15, 1990 turns 36 years, 4 months and 20 days old on November 4, 2026 — 13,291 days in total, with the next birthday falling on Tuesday, June 15, 2027.
How it works
Enter a date of birth and the date you want the age at — today, unless you change it. The answer is given the way people actually state ages: full years, then full months, then the remaining days. Below it you also get the same span counted flat — total months, weeks, days and hours — which is the version forms, insurers and trivia nights usually want.
The next-birthday line counts forward to the next anniversary of the birth date, including on the day itself: if today is the birthday, the countdown reads zero and says so.
The method
Completed calendar years are counted first, then completed months, then leftover days, borrowing the length of the previous month when the day-of-month has not been reached yet. Totals are exact day counts between the two dates (UTC calendar days, so daylight saving never shifts them).
Frequently asked questions
How is age in months and days worked out?
The calculator counts whole years from the birth date, then whole months from that anniversary, then the remaining days. If the current day-of-month is smaller than the birth day-of-month, one month is given back and the leftover days are counted against the length of the previous month.
Does the time of birth matter?
No. Ages in law and everyday life turn on the calendar date, not the hour. Someone is a year older from the start of their birthday in most conventions.
Why does the total in days look different from years × 365?
Because of leap years. A span of 36 years contains about nine February 29ths, and each one adds a real day that 36 × 365 leaves out.
